MOSCOW, August 29 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel underlined, in a telephone conversation on Thursday, the importance of review by the UN Security Council of the inspectors' report on alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria. The telephone conversation was initiated by Germany, the Kremlin press service said.
"The parties held a thorough exchange of opinions on various aspects of the Syrian crisis. Both sides proceed from the standpoint that active efforts will continue at the UN and through other means towards political and diplomatic settlement of the situation," it said.
