TEHRAN, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - The United States and other Western continue can unleash war with Syria, but they will not end it, Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday.
“The war will not be limited by Syria’s affairs. It embraces the whole region and involves small and poor countries in it,” Larijani said.
He warned that the most threat was posed to Israel. All Moslems turn their hatred against Israel, the Iranian speaker said.
Larijani, who is one of the closest aides of Iranian spiritual leader Aytollah Ali Khamenei, accused the United States of using far-fetched pretexts to be involved in the Syrian conflict.
He said Tehran knew about supplies of chemical weapons to one of the U.S. allies. This happened several months ago. The arms were alleged to be used when U.N. experts arrived in Damascus, Larijani said.
