MOSCOW, August 20 (Itar-Tass) - Head of the Palestinian delegation at the talks with Israel Saib Arikat will arrive in Moscow on August 22 to inform Russia about the current situation, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Faed Mustafa told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"Arikat will inform Russia about the current situation at the talks," Mustafa said. "Russia is a traditionally important partner for Palestine. We value Moscow's position very much."

Direct Israeli-Palestinian talks halted in September 2010, after Israel refused to freeze the construction of settlements on the West Bank.

The current talks started in Washington in late July and are expected to last nine months. The third round of talks is due to take place on the West Bank shortly.
