MOSCOW, August 12. (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned a series of terrorist acts recently been committed in Kurkuk, Nasiriyah, Karbala and other Iraqi settlements immediately after Ramadan.

Mass media reported that several dozens of people had died and over 150 people had been injured.

“The purpose of these terrorist acts was to frighten peaceful civilians: cars with explosives were parked near mosques, trading posts and restaurants. This operation, similar to terrorists’ actions in Syria are of inter-religous nature,” the report says.

“In order to eradicate terrorism it is necessary to step up efforts to settle conflicts in the Middle East. We urge all political forces, ethnic and religous groups in Iraq to continue efforts aimed at reaching national reconciliation and resolving problems on the basis of a broad constructive dialogue,” the report says.
