MOSCOW, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - Russia confirms its fundamental position according to which the Syrian conflict has no military solution, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Friday.

The diplomat stressed that the Syrian parties must settle the situation “through a dialogue and on the basis of mutual accord”.

He also marked that it is necessary to boost efforts towards calling as soon as possible the Geneva 2 conference.
