MOSCOW, June 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russia demands punishment for those responsible for the death of Russian pilots in South Sudan, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Four Russian pilots were killed, when the United Nation-leased Russian helicopter was mistakenly shot down in South Sudan. Those responsible in the tragedy have been staying unpunished so far.

“This unacceptable situation should be urgently resolved,” the ministry said.

“The leadership of the UN peacekeeping mission bears its share of responsibility for what had happened,” the ministry said. “The Russian side will determinedly raise this issue in the United Nations from now forth.”
