KIEV, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - The Ukrainian Embassy in Libya maintains permanent contacts with Russian and Belarusian representatives who lodged an appeal against cooperation with the Al Gaddafi regime, director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Information Department Yevgeny Perebeinos said on Wednesday.
The diplomat commented on the Libyan court intended to discuss an appeal, which was lodged by 19 Ukrainian citizens, two Russians and three Belarusian citizens. They worked in Libya under the contract and were sentenced to different prison terms.
“I’ve communicated our embassy in Libya. The court hearings have just begun and it is unclear yet how much time they will last and what will be their result,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
In his words, “The Ukrainian Embassy maintains permanent contacts with the representatives of all countries what citizens turn out to be in such situation.”
