Iranian President Ahmadinejad to visit Moscow next week

TEHRAN, June 25. /ITAR-TASS /. The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will visit Moscow next week, as reported by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araghchi.

According to him, the Iranian president will discuss with the Russian leadership recent regional and international events. The main topics of the talks will be issues connected with Central Asia and the Caucasus, as well as the Syrian conflict.

Earlier, the Iranian ambassador to Russia Reza Sajjadi has reported that Ahmadinejad will take part in the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries that will be held July 1-2 in Moscow. Despite the presidential elections in Iran on June 14, at the moment of his visit to Moscow Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will still retain the powers of the president of Iran.
