GENEVA, June 24 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian delegation will meet with two groups of the Syrian opposition in Geneva and will have a bilateral meeting with the U.S. side, Russian president’s Middle East envoy and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday upon arrival to Geneva.

“There will be a meeting with the Syria opposition. Representatives from two opposition groups will come from Paris, namely Haytham Manna of Syria's National Coordination Committee, who leads an external wing of this influential and patriotically-minded opposition organization. We shall meet with him tomorrow,” he said.

“Another opposition group will come to meet with us. We shal share our impressions later,” he noted. “So far, it is too early to name it.”

“It will expand our view of the situation, of the attitudes of the Syrian opposition,” the Russian diplomat noted. “We have always said that we want the conference to have a maximal representation of the Syrian opposition. That is why the Geneva communiqu· and the agreements with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has a provision that all Syrian opposition groups that enjoy influence in Syrian society and on the Syrian situation must be represented.”

“WE will have a separate meeting with Americans,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov added.
