KALININGRAD, June 6 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow insists Russia take part in an international conference on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.
“All external players must be invited to take part in the conference. Now our partners come against Iran’s participation in the conference,” Lavrov said.
“We’ll insist Iran be invited,” the Russian minister said, adding that objections over Iran’s invitation was a mistake.
“The situation in Syria cannot satisfy anyone because peaceful civilians continue to die,” he stressed.
