MOSCOW, May 31 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the League of Arab States Secretary General, Nabil al-Arabi, discussed the format of an international conference on Syria by telephone on Thursday. The telephone conversation took place at the al-Arabi’s request, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
The sides discussed the situation in Syria and other issues related to it. Lavrov told al-Arabi about preparations for convening an international conference on Syria and the Russian vision of its format. Lavrov urged LAS to step up efforts so as to make the conference fruitful.
