MOSCOW, April 22 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow hopes that the League of Arab States will correct its position on Syria, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
When asked whether the League of Arab States has not lost its legitimacy in the resolution of the Syrian issue after it had given Damascus’ place in the organisation to the Syrian opposition, Bogdanov said, “We need to look at their further steps.”
“The logic of events should suggest that there is no alternative to political settlement and it can be based only on national consensus, which can be achieved through inclusive dialogue between the Syrians - the authorities and the opposition,” he said.
“This is why we think that everyone should correct his approaches. If some hasty conclusions are made or some decisions are adopted, it’s not the end of the road, corrections may be made and certain approaches may be revisited,” Bogdanov said.
