MOSCOW, March 25 (Itar-Tass) – Representatives of the U.N. Security Council Five should be included in an expert group to investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Monday.
“A group of international experts can conduct an objective investigation of the use of chemical weapons in Syria,” Gatilov wrote in his Twitter microblog.
“The group should involve representatives of the U.N. Security Council five permanent members, including Russian and Chinese chemists,” the Russian deputy foreign minister said.
A case of the use of chemical weapons by the armed opposition was recorded in the Aleppo province early in the morning of March 19. At least 16 people were killed and about 100 people were wounded. The international community demanded the attack be investigated.
