MOSCOW, February 19 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will dispatch two airplanes with relief supplies in Syria. The citizens of Russia and other CIS states, who want to leave Syria, will be able to leave the country by these special flights, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Irina Rossius told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“Two Russian emergency airplanes Il-76 and Il-62 are to fly to Latakia from the Moscow regional airfield Ramenskoye on Tuesday,” Rossius said. She noted that one airplane will bring tents, electric generators, kitchen utensils, collapsible furniture with a total weight of 35 tonnes and another airplane will bring over 11 tonnes of foodstuffs.

“Then the citizens of Russia and other CIS states, who wish to leave that country, will be able to fly from Syria by the same airplanes,” the spokesperson said.

Last January, two Russian emergency airplanes delivered 77 people, mainly women and children, who wanted to leave Syria, from Beirut to Moscow.
