MOSCOW, December 24 (Itar-Tass) —— There is a plan to evacuate Russian citizens from Syria, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich confirmed on Monday, December 24.
“It is common knowledge that there are contingency plans in case of emergency in different countries,” he said. “There is such a plan, of course, with regard to our citizens in Russia as well.”
“If need be, necessary support and assistance will be provided to Russian citizens, including if the decision on their evacuation is made,” Lukashevich said.
“In carrying out this work, the Russian Foreign Ministry is closely coordinating with the Emergencies Ministry and other interested federal agencies. Unconditional priority for us is the security of Russian citizens,” he said.
