MOSCOW, November 30 (Itar-Tass) — Hassan Abdel Azim, the head of the National Coordination Committee of Syria, said in interview with the Voice of Russia radio on Friday that the ‘internal’ Syrian opposition would like Russia to preserve its presence in Tartous port.

“We believe that Russia has the right to remain in Tartous even after Syria becomes a truly democratic state,” Hassan Abdel Azim, who’s heading a Syrian opposition delegation to Moscow, said. He added that the Syrian opposition would continue maintaining close ties with Syria’s former partners.

“Our foreign policy should be balanced. We should maintain relations with everybody, except Israel,” the opposition leader went on to say.
