MOSCOW, November 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The office of the Russia Today (RT) television channel located in Gaza’s media centre Al-Shawa was damaged in an Israeli airstrike in the small hours on Sunday, according to RT release.
The office of RT’s Arabic-language sister channel Rusiya Al-Yaum came under air attack at about 01:30 a.m. local time. The crew, a correspondent and a cameraman, were not hurt, since they had left the Shawa building about an hour before the Israeli planes delivered the strike. The office was located on the last, 11th floor of the building, along with outlets of Britain’s Sky News, Italian RAI, German ARD, Kuwait-TV and others.
According to an Itar-Tass correspondent in Tel Aviv, the airstrike also destroyed the office of the local al-Quds TV, which is seen by Israel as a Hamas propaganda branch. The airstrike injured six journalists. One journalist had his leg amputated after the attack, Pelestinian medics say. Witnesses say the buildings were heavily damaged.
Now, the RT crew moved to the fifth floor, which hosts the Palestinian Ma’an news agency.
According to Itar-Tass reports coming from Tel Aviv, Israel’s overnight air attack on the Gaza Strip killed two Palestinians and injured more than 16. Two Palestinians were killed and at least ten more people were wounded in Beit Hanun and Beit Lahia, two small towns located in the immediate proximity to the bored with Israel.
