CAIRO, June 2 (Itar-Tass) — The Egyptian criminal court sentenced on Saturday for life former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adli.

It found as proven their complicity in outrages against protesters on days of mass popular unrest early in 2011 that developed into the revolution then.

The Saturday meeting lasted only several minutes. Judges did not want to drag feet and started reading out the verdict right away.

Following the announcement of the verdict, when judges left the hall and the convicted were led out, the crowd inside and outside the Police Academy started rejoicing. The scuffle flared up between supporters and antagonists of the overthrown head of state.
