MOSCOW, March 19 (Itar-Tass) — Iranian Ambassador in Moscow Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi considered the March 17 terrorist acts in Damascus American puppets’ attempts to establish democracy.

“There were the first signs that American democracy had come to Damascus. We saw American puppets’ attempt to establish democracy in Syria by exploding a bomb in Damascus. As a result of the explosion at least 27 people died,” Sajjadi wrote in his Twitter blog on Monday.

The diplomat described the region’s countries as “the reactionary Arab regimes”. “Our proverb says: ‘Hoist by your own petard.’ What you allow the United States to do in Syria, this will be ‘legally’ done in your country soon,” the Iranian ambassador stressed.
