BEIRUT, May 30. /TASS/. Chief negotiator of Syrian opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC) Mohammed Alloush has said he was resigning over the failure of the latest round of inter-Syrian talks in Geneva to bring results, Reuters reported on Monday.
Alluosh represents the Jaysh al-Islam group in HNC.
The third round of inter-Syrian talks in Geneva finished on April 28. HNC suspended participation in talks from April 17 and proposed their own conditions to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura and Syrian governmental delegation. A diplomatic source told TASS that inter-Syrian talks may resume in late June.
Syria’s Ambassador to UN Bashar Jaafari said earlier that Jaysh al-Islam and Ahrar al-Sham are responsible for escalation of violence in Syria.
