US in talks with Iraqi Kurdistan on deployment of special forces in the region — media

Iraq’s Kurdistan is currently serving as a regional station for US, British and Israeli special operations teams

TEHRAN, June 16. /TASS/. US representatives are holding talks with the leadership of the Iraqi Kurdistan about deploying additional US special forces units on the autonomy’s territory, Iranian news agency Fars reported on Tuesday.

Commander of the US Central Command Gen. Lloyd J. Austin met with the head of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government Vassoud Barzani in the city of Erbil to discuss possible employment of American commando and Black Ops team in the region.

Iraq’s Kurdistan is currently serving as a regional station for US, British and Israeli special operations teams. French weapons ale also stored there in large depots.
