Ukrainian PM party’s electoral rating going down — poll

The ratings of Yatsenyuk's People’s Front Party, Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna Party and the Radical Party headed by Oleg Lyashko are currently below the 5% vote threshold, according to the poll

KIEV, March 24. /TASS/. Only three Ukrainian parties — Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Self-Help Party (Samopomich) and Opposition Bloc — would overcome the 5% vote threshold at the parliamentary elections if they were held this Sunday in the country, an opinion poll unveiled by the Razumkov Center think tank has said.

The ratings of the People’s Front Party led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Yulia Tymoshenko’s Fatherland (Batkivshchyna) Party and the Radical Party headed by Oleg Lyashko are currently below the threshold, according to the poll.

The poll shows that some 14.1% of Ukrainians would vote for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, another 9.3% for the Self-Help Party and 6.8% for the Opposition Bloc.

The People’s Front party would win just 4.6% of the vote, while the Radical Party and Fatherland Party would receive 4.5% and 4.4%, respectively. Other political forces would get 3% of the vote, the poll shows.

The opinion poll was conducted on March 6-12 and involved 2,009 respondents aged above 18.

At the 2014 elections to the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, Yatsenyuk’s People’s Front received some 22.14% of the vote, while the Petro Poroshenko Bloc won 21.82% of the vote.

The Self-Help Party won 10.97% of the vote, followed by the Opposition Bloc (9.43%), the Radical Party (7.44%) and the Fatherland Party (5.68%).
