KIEV, March 2. /TASS/. Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has confirmed the decision of the Council for National Security and Defense to address the United Nations and the European Union about launching the international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine to support peace and security, the Council’s website reports on Monday.

The document reads head of the Council for National Security and Defense Oleksandr Turchinov will control implementation of the decision.

This question may be on the agenda of Ukraine’s parliament on Monday.

A week earlier, Russia’s Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Andrey Kelin said that the initiative to deploy peacekeepers in Ukraine was at the earliest stage of discussion but that mechanism for it had not been envisaged in the recently adopted resolution of the UN Security Council.
