Cyprus settlement, Russia-EU ties to be in focus at talks of Russia, Cyprus leaders

While focusing on bilateral ties the two leaders were expected to discuss financial, military and military-technical cooperation, Kremlin press service reported

MOSCOW, February 24./TASS/. Cyprus settlement, a dialogue between Russia and the EU within the context of Ukrainian crisis as well as the whole set of bilateral relations will be in the focus of attention at talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis, who will pay an official visit to Russia on February 24-27, the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday.

While focusing on bilateral ties the two leaders were expected to discuss financial, military and military-technical cooperation, it said.

"It is expected that the leaders of the two countries will discuss buildup of teamwork in the United Nations, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other international agencies," the press service said.

In Russia, the president of Cyprus will also hold talks with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, speaker of the Federation Council upper house of parliament Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma lower house’s speaker Sergey Naryshkin, as well as St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko.
