OSCE mission in Ukraine cannot yet confirm withdrawal of heavy weapons from conflict zone

The mission would not comment the situation around Debaltsevo since its observers had not yet managed to reach the site, an OSCE spokesman says

KIEV, February 19. /TASS/. Monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) special mission in Ukraine cannot yet confirm withdrawal of heavy weapons from the conflict zone in the country’s east, an OSCE spokesman said on Thursday.

"We have not observed withdrawal of heavy weapons," Michael Bociurkiw said, adding that OSCE representatives saw evidence of the movement of weapons.

He said the mission would not make any comment regarding the situation around the town of Debaltsevo since its observers had not yet managed to reach the site.

The ceasefire in Ukraine’s east was being generally observed despite some local incidents, Bociurkiw said, noting separate shelling attacks on settlements in east Ukraine’s Luhansk, Donetsk and Kramatorsk areas.
