OSCE Permanent Council to meet in urgent session later on Tuesday to discuss Ukraine

The chief of the OSCE observer mission in Ukraine, Ertugrul Apakan, and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Heidi Tagliavini, will make reports on the situation in Ukraine.

VIENNA, January 20. /TASS/. The OSCE Permanent Council will meet for an urgent session later on Tuesday to discuss the escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine, an OSCE spokesman said. The meeting is due at 16:30 local time (18:30 Moscow time). The chief of the OSCE observer mission in Ukraine, Ertugrul Apakan, and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Heidi Tagliavini, will make reports on the situation in Ukraine.

The situation in eastern Ukraine has escalated over the previous week. Earlier reports said Kiev's security forces are launching numerous attacks on the cities controlled by the militias of the self-proclaimed republics of Ukraine's east.
