Russian troops in Armenia detain soldier suspected of killing 6 people

YEREVAN, January 13. /TASS/. Russian border guards in Armenia detained a soldier suspected of a murder of six members of one family in the city of Gyumri, Shirak province in the country’s northwest, Raffi Aslanian, the prosecutor of the province told a local television channel.

Soldier Valery Permyakov was tracked down and detained while trying to move towards the Armenian-Turkish border near the village of Bayandur, located on the bank of the river Ahuryan, which separates the Armenian and Turkish territory.

The place where he was detained is situated 16 kilometers away from Gyumri.

Prosecutor Aslanian said the suspect had been taken to the border guards’ staff and questioning had begun.
