823 thousand temporarily displaced from east Ukraine — premier

According to Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, five thousand of them are employed

KIEV, December 30. /TASS/. As many as 823 thousand were temporarily displaced from east Ukraine, including five thousand already employed, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told a news conference on Tuesday.

“According to current reports, 823 thousand temporarily displaced persons are registered in Ukraine. According to specific services, 617 thousand of them were resettled and were provided with conditions for living. Meanwhile, 328 million hryvnas ($20.5 million) were spent for aid to resettlers,” the premier noted.

Meanwhile, only 30 thousand are registered as unemployed, he said. “Five thousand of them were employed and more than 20 thousand were granted the status of unemployed,” Yatsenyuk said.

The premier pledged that Ukraine will “improve residence registration system for people.”
