Poroshenko, Biden discuss coordination of international financial assistance to Ukraine

KIEV, December 21. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and US Vice-President Joseph Biden had a telephone conversation on Sunday to discuss issues of international financial assistance to Ukraine, the press service of the Ukrainian head of state said.

“The sides discussed coordinated efforts to offer a package of financial assistance from the United States, the European Union and international financial organization that would help Ukraine create a reliable basis for prompt and efficient steps to carry out reforms,” the press service said.

The sides agreed to continue coordination of actions to implement the peace plan of settlement in eastern Ukraine.

Poroshenko also hailed the US president’s signing the Ukraine Freedom Support Act.
