Security operations under way at airports in south-east Ukraine

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) is carrying out an anti-terror program at the airports of Zaporizhye, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk

KIEV, December 15 /TASS/. The airports in Zaporizhye, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, south-eastern Ukraine, have been closed since Friday night as Ukraine’s Security Service launched anti-terror operations that will last until Tuesday, the Ukrainian online publication Apostrof reported referring to Vladislav Seleznyov, a representative of the security operation headquarters.

“At present, the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) is carrying out an anti-terror program at the airports."

“Despite reports that the airports had been closed at the request of the military, neither the General Headquarters nor the Armed Forces have turned to the State Aviation Service with such a request,” Seleznyov said.
