OSCE: all sides in Ukraine’s conflict should resume implementation of Minsk accords

Besides, Burkhalter welcomed “international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in eastern Ukraine, including the work of the Trilateral Contact Group”

VIENNA, December 13. /TASS/. All sides in Ukraine’s conflict should without delay resume consultations aimed at implementation of the Minsk agreements, says a statement of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter, which was circulated on Saturday.

“The Minsk arrangements should be considered in their entirety and any attempts to take a selective approach towards the implementation of their provisions or their re-negotiation cannot be considered as constructive,” Burkhalter said. “I appeal to all sides of the conflict in eastern Ukraine to adhere to their commitments and resume without further delay their contacts and consultations aimed at the full implementation of the Minsk arrangements in conformity with their letter and spirit.”

Besides, Burkhalter welcomed “international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in eastern Ukraine, including the work of the Trilateral Contact Group.”

The OSCE chairperson-in-office also noted importance of the work of the bilateral Ukrainian-Russian Center for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC), which facilitates de-escalation of tension and observance of the ceasefire.

Burkhalter underscored as a positive sign the decreasing number of hostilities after the agreements on ceasing the fire came into force on December 9.
