MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. The tenth humanitarian convoy will be sent to eastern Ukraine till New Year, Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister Vladimir Stepanov said on Thursday.

At present, the ninth humanitarian convoy is being formed in the Rostov Region. It is expected to arrive in eastern Ukraine on Friday, December 12, Stepanov said.

“If all is normal, the ninth humanitarian convoy is planning to arrive in Donbass tomorrow,” he said.

The convoy will deliver over 1,200 tons of cargoes — foodstuffs and primary commodities.

“Russia will send another humanitarian convoy till New Year,” he said, adding “The convoy will carry foodstuffs and all necessary things to restore the infrastructure and socially significant facilities. Presents and toys for children will be also delivered on the occasion of the New Year.”

The tenth convoy is expected to deliver at least 1,000 tons of cargoes. “Approximately the convoy will leave for Donbass after December 20,” Stepanov said.

From August 11 eight humanitarian convoys with over 10,700 tons were delivered to Donetsk and Luhansk, eastern Ukraine.
