Some progress was reached in talks between Iran and six world powers (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) over the past days but differences still remain, the US Secretary of State John Kerry said after the Vienna round of the negotiations. However, he believes they can be overcome.

According to Kerry, the six world powers see ways to settle critical problems of Iran’s nuclear program and the final agreement with Iran will ensure the new level of transparency and verification of the program.

The US wants to lift sanctions but still has questions to Tehran about peaceful character of its nuclear program, the US Secretary of State said. In his words, he hopes the US Congress will support extension of talks on Iran. Although, the six world powers, according to Kerry, will not give extra concessions to Iran as compared with Geneva agreement.
