GROZNY, September 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Leader of the Russian North Caucasian region of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said on Wednesday that terrorists of the Islamic State terrorist organization who are threatening to unleash a war in the Caucasus are “open foes of all the Muslims in the world” and will be eliminated.
“I bindingly declare that the person who dared to utter a threat against Russia or pronounce the name of our country’s president Vladimir Putin will be eliminated at the place where he did so,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his page in a social network.
“We are not going to wait for that person to sit at the wheel of his plane. He will join his late brothers-terrorists Hattab, Abu Valid and other messengers of the West,” the Chechen leader said.
“Terrorists from Syria who call themselves the Islamic State expressed a childish threat to start a war in Chechnya and in the Caucasus. They talk only what their masters from the Western secret services tell them to talk,” he said.
“They may board 2,000 planes but will fail to reach Russia as all countries subordinate to the United States imposed sanctions against Russia but get nothing,” Kadyrov said.
Chechnya, a southern Russian republic in the Caucasian mountains, was gripped by an armed conflict between the separatists and government forces since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 when the separatist leader, Dzhokhar Dudayev, came to power.
Moscow managed to regain full control of the region only in 2009, and now Chechnya is a quiet and prosperous place.
