Labor watchdog to inspect Football Union for failing to pay wage debt to Capello

Russian national team's head coach Fabio Capello and the Russian national team’s manager, Oreste Cinquini, have not been paid since June 2014

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Russia’s federal labor watchdog Rostrud will conduct an early inspection of the Russian Football Union (RFU) for failing to settle wage arrears to the national team’s head coach Fabio Capello on time, Rostrud’s press-service told TASS.

Capello and the Russian national team’s manager, Oreste Cinquini, have not been paid since June 2014. Media estimate the RFU’s debt to the Italian specialists at about 600 million rubles. Earlier, Rostrud asked the RFU to settle the debt to the Italian specialists by January 19. The deadline was not met.

“At the moment, Rostrud has no proof from the employer the wage debt has been settled. Under Article 360 of Russia’s Labor Code, Rostrud is going to conduct an early inspection of the Russian Football Union over its failure to act on the previous instructions,” Rostrud said.
