BERLIN, January 22. /TASS/. Sanctions were not on the table in Berlin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday after the Berlin meeting of foreign ministers of the “Normandy Quartet”.

When asked by TASS about sanctions, Lavrov replied: “We have not discussed sanctions. Sanctions are not our problem but a problem of those who have imposed them and now do not know how to break the vicious circle.”

“I think our partners will come to a certain decision as they understand it is a way to nowhere and a deadlock they have found themselves mired in,” he said.

“We proceed from the fact that only an equal dialogue and mutual regard of interests may be the basis for our relations,” Lavrov said.
