Moscow condemns bomb blasts in Lebanon's Tripoli

The Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned "continued attempts by extremist forces to destabilize the situation in Lebanon through acts of violence and instigation of inter-confessional strife”

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Russia has denounced a double terrorist bombing at a cafe in Lebanon's Tripoli district. The blasts killed nine people and wounded around 40 more.

Russia's Foreign Ministry was responding in a Monday website announcement to news of the attack, carried out by two suicide bombers from the Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra movement.

Masterminds should be found and punished, the website said, condemning "continued attempts by extremist forces to destabilize the situation in Lebanon through acts of violence and instigation of inter-confessional strife”

“We confirm again our support for sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and stability in Lebanon," it added, pledging help for the Lebanese government in fighting international terrorism.
