Russian Emergencies Ministry completes formation of 11th humanitarian convoy for Donbass

Relief supplies include Christmas gifts for children (joys and sweeties) and foodstuffs

MOSCOW, January 7. /TASS/. The 11th humanitarian convoy has been formed in the Rostov region, southern Russia, and it is ready for dispatching to eastern Ukraine, deputy chief of the National Crisis Management Centre Oleg Voronov told TASS on Wednesday.

“The formation of the 11th humanitarian convoy has been completed. It includes over 120 trucks with humanitarian aid of over 1,400 tonnes,” he said.

Relief supplies include Christmas gifts for children (joys and sweeties) and foodstuffs - canned meat, milk and fish, baby food, seven types of cereals, as well as buckwheat, barley, manna and rice. Macaroni, confectionaries, essentials and medicines will be also delivered to Donbass.

“The convoy is planning to leave the Donskoy rescue centre at 4 a.m. Moscow time and it is divided into two convoys. The first convoy will follow to the Donetsk checkpoint and then to Lugansk. The second convoy will move to the Matveyev Kurgan checkpoint and then to Donetsk,” Voronov said.

“All drivers have big experience in conducting humanitarian operations and delivered humanitarian aid to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions several times,” he said.

Earlier, ten convoys of the Emergencies Ministry delivered over 13,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Donbass.
