The Russian president suggested discussing prospects of bilateral cooperation and further deepening of integration processes

MOSCOW, December 22 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakhstani counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev are meeting in Moscow to discuss the results of Nazarbayev’s visit to Ukraine.

“You have come to us via Kiev. You have an opportunity to tell us about your meeting in the Ukrainian capital,” Putin told Nazarbayev as he opened the meeting.

The president of Kazakhstan agreed to Putin’s proposal.

The Russian president also suggested discussing prospects of bilateral cooperation and further deepening of integration processes.

Nazarbayev said that he first met Putin in his capacity as president of Russia 15 years ago. “Over that period of time he has stopped chaos in Russia and restored the vertical of power. Russia is totally different now,” the Kazakhstani leader said adding that the Eurasian Economic Union was starting functioning on January 1, 2015.

“Despite all the twists and turns, I believe that we should support this organization and make it viable and interesting to all,” Nazarbayev stressed.
