Wounded in Grozny police officers airlifted to Moscow hospital

MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Police officers wounded in fire exchanges with terrorists in Chechnya’s capital Grozny have been airlifted to Moscow, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry told TASS on Saturday.

“Fifteen wounded police officers were airlifted from Grozny to Moscow,” the press service said. “They are receiving treatment at the ministry’s hospital.”

On December 4 at about midnight, a group of unidentified persons going in three cars attacked a checkpoint of the traffic police in the capital of Russia’s Caucasian republic of Chechnya. Then the wrongdoers broke into the republican House of the Press and a school. Law enforcers sealed off the buildings. During the operation to neutralise the gunmen, 10 officers were killed and another 28 wounded. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee said ten militants were destroyed in the operation.
