MOSCOW, July 24. /ITAR-TASS/. One-third of Russians believe that army and weaponry help their country build up a strong image abroad, a state-run pollster reported on Thursday.

Additionally, 15% of respondents said President Vladimir Putin and his foreign policy promoted the country's image, while 13% named culture and traditions the main source of Russia's power.

Assessing the attitude of foreign nationals for Russia, 33% of respondents described it as interest, 22% as envy and 21% as respect. According to 14%, foreigners do not trust Russia.

The opinion poll was conducted by the All-Russia Public Opinion Research Center (WCIOM) and surveyed almost 1,600 people in 42 regions across Russia on May 31 to June 1. The margin of error was 3.4%.
