BRUSSELS, March 17. /TASS/. The next trilateral Russia-EU-Ukraine gas talks will be conducted in Brussels on March 20, the European Commission (EC) told TASS Tuesday.
"Yes, we confirm that the talks will be conducted on March 20, Friday, at ministerial level," a representative of the EC said.
The ministers will be discussing supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine and its transit to the EU countries from April 1, according to a European source speaking with TASS. "We expect that the sides will consider pricing and technical issues of gas supplies to Ukraine and transit of gas to the EU countries after the "winter package" agreements, which terminate on March 31, are finalized," he said.
When answering the question whether the problem of gas deliveries to Donbas will be considered at the meeting he said that "this will not be subject of talks," though adding that "in the remaining days the agenda of the meeting may be altered in accordance with the sides’ positions."
The latest trilateral meeting on the gas issue took place in Brussels on March 2. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Demchishin as well as European Commission vice president Maros Sefcovic participated in the talks. No documents were signed at the end of the meeting, though the ministers agreed to continue trilateral talks.
