The country plans to increase the reverse flow via the Vojany-Uzhgorod pipeline from 11.5 to 14.5 billion cubic meters from March 1, its prime minister says

KIEV, February 6. /TASS/. Slovakia plans to increase reverse gas supplies to Ukraine by 26% to 14.5 billion cubic meters starting from March 1, according to an official statement issued on Friday following the meeting between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Fico said that Slovakia plans to increase the reverse flow via the Vojany-Uzhgorod pipeline from 11.5 to 14.5 billion cubic meters from March 1. "We practically come to the level of meeting one third of (Ukraine’s) demand," he said.

TASS earlier reported that Slovakian reverse capacities will grow by 8.5 million cubic meters per day from March 1 as a result of "technical measures taken by the Ukrainian side." The throughput on the pipeline will be increased in Slovakia’s Budince.

The capacity of the Vojany-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, launched on September 2, initially stood at 10 billion cubic meters per year (27 million per day).
