Russia’s anti-crisis plan to require $21 billion — deputy PM

“This plan will require large resources for those measures which we have outlined," First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said

NOVO-OGAREVO, January 21. /TASS/. The Russian government’s anti-crisis plan will require 1.375 trillion rubles (about $21 billion), including budget expenditures, state guarantees and spending from the oil wealth National Welfare Fund, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

“This plan will require large resources for those measures which we have outlined. These measures will be finalized and supplemented and the plan will most likely be expanded. For this plan, we need 1.375 trillion rubles in financing,” Shuvalov said.

The Russian government proposes to allow regions to reduce taxes for small and medium-sized businesses, Shuvalos said. Russian regions should create anti-crisis commissions by February 16, he added.

The Ministry of Economic Development will prepare adjusted forecast of Russia's socio-economic development by February 1, the minister said. Amendments to Russia’s federal budget will be ready by late February, he added.
