KIEV, December 30. /TASS/. Russia will cease to be Ukrainian trade partner in the near future, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Tuesday.

“Our trade with Russia has halved. Finally, Russia will cease to be among Ukraine’s main trade partners,” he told a news conference.

Ukraine has managed to reduce the dependence on Russian natural gas and Kiev currently buys 60% of gas it needs from European partners, Yatsenyuk said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk said on Tuesday he is hopeful that an agreement on Russian coal supplies will be signed shortly.  “I hope that we’ll soon reach agreement with Russia on coal supplies,” Yatsenyuk said.

At the same time, he said there are 1.4 million tons of coal and such amount is extremely insufficient.

Yatsenyuk also noted the positive tendency between daily coal consumption and its stockpiles. “We have additional 10,000 tons per day,” he said.
