Sukhoi plans selling ten Business Jets a year

Russia demonstrated Sukhoi Business Jet during a visit of President Vladimir Putin to India

MANAMA, December 14. /TASS/. Russia’s Sukhoi Company plans selling up to ten Business Jets a year, as the price is about twice lower than competitors offer for similar models, the company’s deputy head Evgeny Andrachnikov said in an interview with TASS on Sunday.

Business Jet is a modification of Sukhoi Superjet 100. A deal on selling two Business Jets to an Asian country is at an “advanced stage,” he said.

Russia demonstrated Sukhoi Business Jet during a visit of President Vladimir Putin to India. After that, the jet took the Russian delegation to Bahrain, where the Persian Gulf ministers of industry and trade had a meeting.

“Business Jet has interesting options for development, as in the ‘price-cabin size-haul’ approach we have advantages if compared to other representatives of the ultra-large segment,” the company’s representative said. “With parameters of the kind, we may plan to be selling 5-10 jets a year.”

The price will be slightly over $40 million against $70-80 million the competitors - Airbus and Boeing - are offering, he said. As yet, the range is 4,600 kilometres, while the competitors have bigger ranges, but next year the company plans certifying additional tanks, and the range will approach 8,000 kilometres.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company was founded in 2000 to develop new regional aircraft projects. The company is also responsible for SSJ100 marketing, sales in Russia, the CIS, China, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
