Hungary not to give up cooperation with Russia — Hungarian ambassador

“Russia is one of Hungary’s most important business partners. Our trade and economic relations have a long and fruitful history,” Hungarian Ambassador to Russia Janos Balla said

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Hungary will not abandon cooperation with Russia, Hungarian Ambassador to Russia Janos Balla said on Friday.

In this difficult time, when a number of Western countries are exerting pressure on Russia seeking its international isolation, Hungary is committed to develop cooperation with Russian practically in all areas of economic activity, he told a news conference.

“Russia is one of Hungary’s most important business partners. Our trade and economic relations have a long and fruitful history,” he said.

He noted that with an eye of attracting more Russian tourists, Hungary had opened a visa center under its embassy. “We invite Russian tourists to visit our country. We promise to provide all the conditions to make them feel our support and friendship,” he pledged.

According to the Hungarian ambassador, the Mayor of the Hungarian capital Budapest, Istvan Tarlos, came to Moscow to promote ties between the two capitals. After a meeting with Moscow’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, Tralos said it was a “successful and fruitful” conversation. “We discussed major issues of cooperation and agreed to sign a cooperation agreement next year,” he said. “It will cover a variety of aspects of our cooperation, and the most important areas will be economy and culture. I am confident Moscow and Budapest will be linked by bridge of friendship and cooperation.”
