BEIJING, December 11. /TASS/. Moscow is waiting for foreign investment in the Far East’s energy, shipbuilding and infrastructure construction projects, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev said at the meeting with the CEOs of Chinese companies on Thursday.

“In general, we expect investors in any spheres of the economy. Nevertheless, speaking on our priorities, these are shipbuilding, energy sphere, infrastructure construction, as well as fish and timber processing,” Trutnev stressed.

During his visit to China, Trutnev said he has already held a number of meetings with the leadership of Chinese companies that have shown a great interest towards bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese businessmen are particularly attracted by the preferences which they are set to enjoy in line with the Russian law on the territories of advanced development in the Far East, Siberia and other regions.

The talks also focused on particular projects, including gold mining in the Far East and privileges which foreign companies could get when processing timber in the region.

Trutnev reminded that Russia is interested in an added-value wood processing and not just exporting round timber. He stressed that the Russian government is set to consider plans for building a pulp and paper mill in the Far East.
