Russia to meet this year’s $15.5 billion weapons export target — official

In 2013, Russia exported $15.7 billion worth of military hardware, deputy chief of the military technical cooperation service Vyacheslav Dzirkaln said

ZHUHAI, China, November 11. /TASS/. Russia this year will meet its weapons export target of $15.5 billion, the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin told TASS.

“We have a target slightly above $15.5 billion, and we shall meet it,” Fomin said at the Air Show China 2014.

“The contract portfolio currently stands at about $50 billion, but it keeps changing all the time. At the moment, it looks impressive,” he added.

In 2013, as the deputy chief of the military technical cooperation service Vyacheslav Dzirkaln said, Russia exported $15.7 billion worth of military hardware. In 2012, arms export was above $15.1 billion, and in 2011 it was slightly lower, $13.2 billion.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the national arms manufacturing industry, late last year voiced the certainty that by 2020 Russia would build up the export of military products four-fold to an annual $50 billion.
