One of nine people who escaped from custody in southern Siberia detained

The detained individual is a citizen of the republic’s Bay-Taginsky district

KRASNOYARSK, April 14. /TASS/. One of nine persons who escaped from custody in a pre-trial detention center in southern Siberia’s Tyva Republic has been detained, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.

"One of those who ran away has been detained in the city [of Av-Dovurak]. The search for eight others is ongoing," a spokesman said.

The detained individual is a citizen of the republic’s Bay-Taginsky district, who is suspected of an assault.

Earlier in the day, nine detained persons escaped from custody. Four of them had been convicted for assault, robbery and inflicting serious harm to health. They were about to be sent to a prison. Five other men had been detained on suspicion of murder, inflicting serious harm to health, robbery, assault and violating traffic rules, which resulted in serious injuries.
